Challenge:

A boundary object is a social concept that describes information used in different ways by different people. The key part of a boundary object is that “thing” can be recognised by several communities as the same thing.  Brief 1a, People, was split into two parts, with the aim to create two different boundary objects teaming up with two different people. We had to identify a shared common interest, exploring this subject to create a boundary object that developed a shared language, understanding or interaction. For this brief I worked with Holly Hornsby, creating a boundary object around our shared subject of Fashion.

Response:

In response to this brief me and my partner Holly, decided to focus on the subject of sustainable fashion. Through this we created our boundary object for the global fashion brand H&M. We created clothing swing tags that represented the company being translucent with their audience about where they sourced their goods. The front of the tag uses a translucent layer to show which country the garments are made, the back giving further details on this as well as information on how to care for the item.
