I focussed my FMP on whether technology could support the right to protest. This was in response to the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill 2021, and powers given to the police during Coronavirus. With so many aspects of our lives moving online, it made me question could design and technology support protesting?

After a 3 phase co-creative design process, I created the website ‘Your Say, Not Hearsay’. Your Say used the internet to connect and challenge different narratives around legislation, recognising community members as experts within their own right, and bringing context and perspectives to the forefront of the design. Using different lenses the user could click on comments made from other users within the legislation. The platform was designed to get society thinking collectively, with the main aim to show that small changes within The Bill have larger impacts, specifically amongst BAME and LGBTQ+ groups. The platform revolved around knowledge being power, and creating a great foundation to oppose, because once unjust narratives come to light, meaningful change can follow.
