The Brief:

We invite a Communication Design response to this specific challenge in a post-pandemic context of engagement: to support connection and sharing of experiences and personal information for people living with HIV, that addresses concerns about trusted data sharing, that supports the self-management of health and wellbeing, and to promote living well and feeling connected.

Response:

My final outcome and response to the brief is a service named Liminal which uses speculative virtual reality as a bridge back to reality within the HIV community. For those newly diagnosed, or anyone going through or contributing to the cycle of acceptance. Liminal has the ability to reveal the users identity as confidence is built. Liminal uses three ‘Spaces’ based on the four stages of acceptance. Clear Space, Social Space, and Support Space, all slowly adapting you to the virtual reality but at the same time back to reality.
