Urban Golf is an innovative approach to increase participation of young people to golf. With the increasing popularity of E-Sports and Augmented and Virtual Reality technologies, Urban Golf encourages young people to get back into the city, post-covid, whilst wetting their appetites for golf.
Players explore the cities in a Geocaching inspired trail and use Augmented Reality (AR) to find the virtual tees where they take part in Virtual Reality (VR) mini-games across the city, competing for the highest score. AR leaderboards are dotted around town to give the players the feeling of tournament play walking down a fairway.
The pack contains a cardboard VR headset for their phones and a wristband that carries an accelerometer that is used as the virtual club. The AR glossary of terms within the pack educates players on golfing terms, so they can talk like the pros.
