Tilly-Mae Graham – Designing a Brand

Challenge:

For this project, I was given a brief which challenged me to create a B2C brand for an existing B2B brand, SoPost. SoPost is a service which specialises in product sampling. They assist in order fulfilment processes including providing dispatch information. The dispatch information sent by email was their only touchpoint with consumers at the time. The problem they had with this communication was that consumers were apprehensive of what role the brand played in the process. I was challenged to create a new brand and a customer-facing hub which was established trust and dependability in a digital world where consumers are vigilant about data usage.

Solution: As a response, I created ‘Whrl’. Whrl (like ‘give it a whirl) is a sampling brand which puts trust at the forefront of its service. Using tranquil colours of nature, the brand was created to be something users look forward to. With the creation of user profiles and scenarios, I decided the best form of the customer hub would be an app. The app is designed to be a quick source of discovery throughout users day-to-day, and a community centre when users have spare time. The app featured live-chats to bring a human element to something which was data-focused, a review section and an engaging ‘my Whrl’ section where users could view their data.
