Challenge:

The aim of this brief was to create design artifacts that act as a boundary object between selected pairs. The object is supposed to represent the connection of mutual interests and support in the development of a common visual language within the group. Each person was assigned two partners, with whom they had to design and produce an outcome based on a chosen theme.

Response:

Holly and I developed a plant starter kit, that incorporated several items. The final designs for the plant care kit consisted of a plant box, seed packages, information cards on each plant, and a collectible sheet that would encourage people to grow more plants. The “self-seed” logo is reflective of the mental health aspect of the product, as plants tend to have a positive effect on productivity, eye-sight, well-being, and memory. The combination of illustration and vector art, adds a polished yet personal aesthetic to the plant kit and communicates the product’s positive message while maintaining visual consistency.
