As part of a live brief working with PlaceChangers, we were challenged to enhance the User experience of the brand due to its large master plan projects. This issue provided unique challenges for resident engagement due to complexity of plans, long participation programmes and the difficulty of knowing how to be involved.
After conducting some research and gaining insight as to how best to enhance this experience, I designed a simple consultation experience by improving the already-existing 3D interactive PlaceChanger tool. This renewed experience helped residents to navigate the 3D-map more easily through some features such as heatmaps, onboarding process, toggle view, map guide etc.
This new website experience was also supported by a promotional campaign to encourage residents to be more involved in the changes in their community as well as other stakeholders to patronise PlaceChangers’ tools.
